Ingredients
  • Ground pork one package from Target, but you can get it anywhere. I just don't know how much it is...
  • Breadcrumbs (about 1 slice of bread)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • A splash of cooking rice wine
  • Soy sauce
  • Honey
  • Salt
  • White pepper

Asian Meatballs is a different take on the traditional meatballs. They have a sort of Teriyaki taste to it and can be eaten on its own or over pasta tossed with sesame oil and soy sauce. Alternatively, you can also use them to fill your Chinese buns.
  1. Grind up one piece of bread into breadcrumbs.
  2. Beat an egg in a bowl.
  3. Combine ground pork, breadcrumbs, and egg in a mixing bowl. Add a splash of cooking rice wine. The wine helps make the meat more tender and get rid of any weird taste the meat might have. Mix by hand until even.
  4. Add a good amount of soy sauce and drizzle the mixture with honey. Sprinkle with salt and a generous amount of white pepper. White pepper had a lighter taste than black pepper and is grinded to a really done powder. You can find it at your local Asian market. Mix the ingredients in with hands until even.
  5. Pick up a small chunk of the meat mixture and roll it in your hands until it becomes a meatball. Place a meatball into a pan. Keep filing the pan until it is full or you run out of meatballs. Make sure to leave some space between each meatball.
  6. When the pan is full, place it on the stove, cover, and let the meatballs cook on medium heat. After about 8 minutes, when the bottom is golden brown, flip the meatballs, cover, and let the meatballs cook until it is cooked all the way through.
  7. Take the meatballs off the heat.
  8. Serve over a bed of shredded lettuce and drizzle with sesame oil, soy sauce, and hot oil to taste.
  9. Enjoy!
